Care instructions / Gaby care guide, our trench coat dream

Wondering how to wash your trench coat?Gabyand take care of it?

We present to you our maintenance recipes to make it last

(tested and approved by our team)!

Our advice for properly washing your trench coat

First of all, we advise you to use an ecocert or ecolabel detergent so as not to damage the fiber. No need to overdose on laundry detergent.

Concerning the temperature, we advise you to wash it cold or at 30°C inside out.

Program a light spin, 600 revolutions should be enough.

You can wash your Gaby in aguppy friendly bag. No need if your machine has a microparticle filter.

Remember to empty your pockets before putting it in the machine, an accident can quickly happen. You can remove or leave the sleeve tabs and belt during washing, it's up to you.

THE TRENCH

Our advice for drying, ironing and storing your trench coat

↳ Once washed, avoid leaving your trench coatGabyin a damp ball, it would then take on bad creases.

Avoid the dryer which breaks the fiber of clothes and which consumes a lot of energy. Prefer drying in the open air on a dryer/tancarville or a hanger which also prevents it from taking on bad creases and smoothes it naturally.Gabydries relatively quickly even on a hanger! Convenient to postpone it when there are several days of rain in a row.

↳ Your trenchGabycan be ironed with a gentle iron or not at all. You can also favor the use of a steam generator or a steamer. Be careful, however, ironing can reduce the effectiveness of the water-repellent finish.

↳ Wardrobe storage is recommended to avoid folding marks. The size of the hanger must be adapted to the size of the trench coat to ensure the best support and avoid deformation. And if we can quibble a little: we recommend that you use wooden hangers or better quality ones than those made of thin metal (but if you see, those which distort the clothes).

Our advice in case of stains

A stain doesn't make you a cutie but is proof that you wear your trench often and put it to the test in everyday life. Here are some tips and recipes to get rid of unexpected tasks.

↳ If watery stain:

Mix a few teaspoons of baking soda (depending on the size of the stain) with a splash of water. The whole thing should form a sort of somewhat solid paste; if there is too much water and it doesn't mix very well, don't hesitate to add a little baking soda to get the ideal texture. You can add a little of your detergent which helps to bind the mixture: the alchemists had better watch out!

Spread the mixture directly on the stains so as to cover them completely.

Leave it on for 20-30 minutes then gently scrub the stained areas with a clothes brush or an old toothbrush.

Rinse with clean water then let air dry.

Bonus: Marseille soap is also a great ally against stains. You can buy the stain remover bars usually in gray color. Moisten the bar, rub circularly for 5-10. Leave on for 15-20 minutes then always rinse with cold water if it is a watery stain.

↳ If greasy stain:

Take some dishwashing liquid, put a drop on the stain and rinse with hot water.

Our advice for keeping the color of your trench coat

To ensure a lifespan for the pretty Toast Beige color of your trench coatGaby, we advise you not to mix and to do laundry by color. Despite these precautions, Gaby's colors have been tested to last as long as possible ;)
