Wondering how to wash and take care of your shirt?

After 3 weeks of testing at the Patine Studio where there is now a sweet smell of laundry, here are our care tips to make your shirts lastpoppy, let's go!

Our advice for properly washing your shirt

First of all, we advise you to use an ecocert or ecolabel detergent so as not to damage the fiber. No need to overdose on detergent, it can even affect your shirt and its buttons!

Concerning the temperature, we advise you to wash it cold or at 30°C inside out. Cotton being a resistant fiber which has a strong affinity for water, you can wring your shirt between 800 and 1000 revolutions.

For your information

↳ Only wash your shirt when necessary (stains or bad odors). And be carefull, do not iron an odorous item of clothing to freshen it! The heat could trap the smell and therefore quite the opposite would happen :)

To avoid washing too frequently, you can also let your shirt air out overnight.

↳ Do not use fabric softener, the shirt is naturally soft and the materialpoppyis not made to be fluid.

Our advice for drying, ironing and storing your shirt

↳ Drying on a hanger is recommended to avoid bad creases: it is best to button your shirt all the way to the top!

And to preserve the colors of your Poppy shirt, it is best to dry it out of direct sunlight. This advice applies to all your clothes.

↳ Ironing is recommended to give this shirt a bold effect! Ironing on the reverse side is still recommended.

If your shirt is still slightly damp, ironing it will be easier. If it is already dry you can use the steam from your iron.

Remember to empty the limescale compartment of the iron every 2 months, this extends its lifespan and prevents stains on your clothing.

↳ Wardrobe storage is recommended to avoid folding marks. The size of the hanger must be adapted to the size of the shirt to ensure the best support and avoid deformation. And if we can quibble a little: we recommend that you use wooden hangers or better quality ones than those made of thin metal (but if you see, those which distort the clothes).

The buttons ofpoppyare the same asTony, you must therefore be careful not to leave your shirt in the machine and in the humidity for too long or they may break!

If this ever happens to you, send us a message so that we can find a solution to your problem.

Our advice in case of stains

↳ If watery stain:

Mix a few teaspoons of baking soda (depending on the size of the stain) with a splash of water. The whole thing should form a sort of somewhat solid paste; if there is too much water and it doesn't mix very well, don't hesitate to add a little bicarbonate. You can add a little of your laundry detergent which helps bind the mixture.

Spread the mixture directly on the stains so as to cover them completely.

Leave it on for 20-30 minutes then gently scrub the stained areas with a clothes brush or an old toothbrush.

Rinse with clean water then let air dry.

Otherwise Marseille soap also works. You can buy stain remover bars which are generally gray in color. Moisten the bar, rub circularly for 5-10. Leave on for 15-20 minutes then always rinse with cold water if it is a watery stain.

↳ If greasy stain:

Take some dishwashing liquid, put a drop on the stain and rinse with hot water.

↳ To treat a stain during washing, apply Marseille soap on it to form a small deposit a few minutes before turning your shirt over and putting it in the drum (a program at 30° is also enough to remove stains). tasks). Be careful to choose a real Marseille soap with more than 72% vegetable oil to ensure its effectiveness!

Our advice for maintaining the color of your shirt

poppyis not supposed to bleed but you have to be careful when washing with lighter or darker colors which could bleed onto the shirt!

If you find that the white is fading you can use percarbonate of soda to revive the white, 2 tablespoons are enough directly in the tab of your machine.
