The Wooly Sweater

For the 3rd year, a new limited edition in 3 colors, still in pure recycled merino wool

The bet on regenerated merino wool:
to combine the best of innovation with respect for traditions.

Currently, the majority of extra-fine wool comes from sheep raised in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, often in intensive farming conditions, with 70% of the wool then going to China to be processed.
To address this manufacturing process which has a very heavy carbon impact, we are proposing an innovative solution for our first sweater.

An extra-fine recycled wool yarn, 50% post-consumer and 50% pre-consumer, GRS labeled, made in Italy. Post-consumer = old 100% wool sweaters, mechanically recycled and then transformed back into yarn, combined with offcuts from wool sweater production (this is the pre-consumer).

The recycling of the sweaters and the production of the new yarn are done in Italy. Our sweaters are then knitted in Italy.

How do I maintain it?

You can wash it by hand or in the washing machine on a wool cycle (cold or 30 degrees), with a low spin speed (400 rpm max). Use a special wool detergent; fabric softener is not necessary. Do not tumble dry, do not iron, and lay it flat to dry without losing its shape.

Wooly knitwear ticks all the boxes of Patine's expertise: its slightly boxy cut allows you to wear a shirt or long-sleeved t-shirt underneath without feeling restricted or constricted (or a simple tank top, Wooly knits are very soft!).
Their length, neither too long nor too short, allows them to be slipped under any jeans/skirt/trousers. It's called a French tuck .
The double cuffs, ribbed trim with side slits, double neckline, and back embroidery make it not only cool but also unique. And did we mention how durable it is thanks to its thick knit?
It's not just knitwear you'll wear because it's cold, but sweaters and cardigans you'll wear all the time.

Pictured here are our sweaters and cardigans worn with our essential Patine piece: the Wide Leg Brenda in light blue or medium blue

The Wooly Guide

What are the differences with the 2024 edition?

With each production run, we strive to further enhance the quality of our garments and reduce their environmental footprint. The sweaters are now knitted in Italy. We've evolved the washing recipe to achieve even softer wool than the 2024 edition.

How is Wooly knit “low impact”?

Currently, the majority of extra-fine wool comes from sheep raised in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and South America, often under intensive farming conditions, with 70% of the wool then going to China for processing.
To overcome this manufacturing process which has a very heavy carbon impact, we are offering an innovative solution for our first sweater.

A yarn made from extra-fine recycled wool, 50% post-consumer and 50% pre-consumer, GRS-certified, made in Italy. Post-consumer = old 100% wool sweaters, mechanically recycled and then reprocessed into yarn combined with wool sweater production scraps (this is pre-consumer).
The sweaters are recycled and the new yarn is made in Italy. Our sweaters are then knitted, again in Italy.

Are you planning any restocking during the winter?

No, because we want to avoid overproduction. We produce only one product per year. If your size is sold out, you can create an alert and you will be notified as a priority of any exchanged or returned items that may become available again.

How will the quality of my Woolys evolve over time?

We chose a very high-quality 100% merino wool yarn, optimized the knitting tension, construction, and washing to create pieces that will age beautifully and limit pilling. The wool is 100% recycled but spun by a century-old Italian house: the recycled nature does not alter the quality of the wool, it simply makes the Wooly knit very innovative ecologically. You can read the reviews of those who have worn sweaters from previous years.

How to care for Wooly knitwear?

You can wash it by hand or in the washing machine on the wool program (cold or 30 degrees), low spin (400 rpm max), use a special wool detergent, no fabric softener needed. Do not tumble dry, do not iron and lay it flat to dry without losing its shape.

What does recycled merino wool mean?

Recycled wool comes from workshop scraps, and also very largely from the mechanical recycling of already existing wool sweaters. So we have not created any new material. Here's how it works: the used wool is first sorted by color before being shredded. It is then re-mixed to form the desired colors, rather than using the dye again. Finally, it is spun again, then woven, to create a new fabric. And there you have it!

I already have a Wooly sweater, what size should I get?

You can take the same size. We now offer 3 sizes for the oversized sweater, if you have any doubts refer to the size advice we have made a correspondence table.
The little sweater is intentionally closer to the body, we advise you to take your usual size. If you want an oversized look, take a size above your usual size.

If the size doesn't fit, can I exchange my sweater?

Yes, absolutely, as long as it is unworn and still tagged. You have 14 days, and we always make extra pieces for you to exchange.
