Care instructions / Gaby care guide, our trench coat dream

Wondering how to wash your trench coat?Gabyand take care of it?

We present to you our maintenance recipes to make it last

(tested and approved by our team)!

Our tips for washing your trench coat properly

The most important point: wash your trench coat as little as possible! Wipe it with a damp sponge and soap if you ever get a stain somewhere instead of putting your trench coat in the washing machine.

Use an ecocert or ecolabel detergent to avoid damaging the fiber. There's no need to overdose on detergent.

It is strongly recommended not to use powder detergents. in direct contact with the garment. Also, do not use products that may contain fabric softeners, fabric softeners, or stain removers. Also, avoid using chlorine on your garment.

Regarding the temperature, we recommend washing it cold or at 30°C inside out.

Set a light spin cycle, 600 rpm should be enough.

You can wash your Gaby in aguppy friendly bag. Not necessary if your machine has a microparticle filter.

Remember to empty your pockets before putting it in the machine, an accident can quickly happen. You can remove or leave the sleeve tabs and belt during washing, it's up to you.

Our tips for drying, ironing and storing your trench coat

↳ Once washed, avoid leaving your trench coat as much as possibleGabyin a wet ball, it would then take on bad creases.

Avoid tumble drying, which breaks the fibers of your clothes and consumes a lot of energy. Instead, air dry on a clothes rack or hanger, which also prevents unwanted wrinkles and smooths them out naturally.Gabydries relatively quickly even on a hanger! Practical for wearing when there are several rainy days in a row.

↳ Your trench coatGabyiron with a low iron or not at all. You can also use a steam generator or a steamer. Be careful, however, ironing can reduce the effectiveness of the water-repellent finish.

↳ Hanging your coat in a closet is recommended to avoid crease marks. The size of the hanger should be adapted to the build of the trench coat to ensure the best fit and avoid warping. And if we can nitpick a little: we recommend using wooden or better quality hangers rather than thin metal ones (but you see, those that warp clothes).

Our advice in case of stains

A stain doesn't make you a cutie but is proof that you wear your trench often and put it to the test in everyday life. Here are some tips and recipes to get rid of unexpected tasks.

↳ If watery stain:

Mix a few teaspoons of baking soda (depending on the size of the stain) with a splash of water. The whole thing should form a sort of somewhat solid paste; if there is too much water and it doesn't mix very well, don't hesitate to add a little baking soda to get the ideal texture. You can add a little of your detergent which helps to bind the mixture: the alchemists had better watch out!

Spread the mixture directly on the stains so as to cover them completely.

Leave it on for 20-30 minutes then gently scrub the stained areas with a clothes brush or an old toothbrush.

Rinse with clean water then let air dry.

Bonus: Marseille soap is also a great ally against stains. You can buy the stain remover bars usually in gray color. Moisten the bar, rub circularly for 5-10. Leave on for 15-20 minutes then always rinse with cold water if it is a watery stain.

↳ If greasy stain:

Take some dishwashing liquid, put a drop on the stain and rinse with hot water.
