There are as many prices, pricing methods, and pricing structures as there are brands.
The concept of quality differs depending on the brand. At Patine, it is defined by a triptych of aesthetics, durability, and commitment.
A price is not necessarily indicative of the quality, durability and environmental impact of a garment.
We don't claim our prices are low. However, we do claim a very low cost per wear and ethical compensation from our excellent partners. Every day, we build an innovative brand model that offers unprecedented value for money.

This is how we set our prices

• As with the entire Patine catalog, the price of the coat is determined based on costs.
• First, the cost of the material. We chose a double-faced wool with a twill weave woven in Italy from Manteco®. Beyond its significantly reduced environmental impact compared to traditional technical materials, this is a very high-end double-faced wool that is both dense and soft, with a smooth hand and a supple drape.
• Then there's the cost of making it. The coat is made in Portugal in a cutting-edge workshop that collaborates with the biggest names in luxury...and now Patine. Our construction and finishing choices are expensive, but we deemed them essential for the coat's silhouette and durability. The interior finishes are fully covered with bias binding and French seams to reinforce important seams. The manufacturing price was negotiated, but respects our commitment to ethical remuneration.
• Other costs: the price also includes the costs of developing the project (the time and expertise of the brilliant model maker who collaborates with Patine, the prototypes, the technical tests, etc.), transport, and a margin integrating our operating costs.
• Regarding the weight of each of these costs in the price: our investments in advertising, muses, and influence are limited. We do not make many markdowns and we refrain from inflating our prices to include a promotional budget. To conclude:
• Finally we apply 20% VAT.
• Important: The Patine brand is primarily distributed directly on the website and in our boutique. If we were to move to traditional distribution in multi-brand stores, we would have to increase the price to incorporate the distributors' margin. As a guide, we estimate that the price of the coat would increase to approximately €1,000, while maintaining margin coefficients in the lower average of the market.
