Description

This is the short-sleeved shirt. An oversized, boxy-cut short-sleeved shirt. Wear it again and again, tucked in or out, open, closed, buttoned or unbuttoned, tied in front or back, sleeves rolled up, down, rerolled... addictive. Cut from the sublime Italian Taffy taffeta. A material that knows how to hold its own (do you too?). Taffy is a Patine concept, partywear pieces to wear again and again, day and night.

Kaki marble: our first print in a kaki green that pairs perfectly with white, black, and gray, summer and winter. Taffy Italian Newlife™ taffeta fabric made from 100% recycled technical polyester yarn with a fully traceable process made in Italy.

• Corozo buttons front and back, slightly domed profile like the shirt
• Mid-arm sleeves, with or without rolling
• Tightly woven yet lightweight fabric (130 grams per square meter) with a silky feel. Dense without being stiff, it holds its shape well (just like us).

Size advice

Take your usual size. In the photos, the piece is worn in S on 1.73m and 1.76m models. The Taffy shirt is already very oversized.

100% recycled polyester taffeta

Sustainability and traceability

• Composition
Main material: Taffy, our Italian recycled polyester taffeta made with Newlife™ Italian yarn.

Traceability:
• Newlife™ yarn is entirely Italian and 100% "post-consumer" recycled, from plastic bottle collection to spinning.
• Weaving and printing are carried out in Italy.
• Manufacturing is located in Portugal.
• Taffy pieces are then delivered by truck to our logistics provider in Angers.

Newlife™ yarn manufacturing process:
The manufacturing process is patented and 100% "Made in Italy." The resulting yarn has the same performance, quality level, and technical properties as virgin polyester, but with a lower environmental impact.
The manufacturing steps are as follows:
• Collection: Used recycled PET bottles are transported to the Fossano factory.
• Grinding: The bottles are washed and mechanically ground into "flakes."
• Melting: The "flakes" are melted to obtain the NewLife polyester polymer.
• Extrusion: The polymer is sent to the Saluzzo factory where it undergoes extrusion to be transformed into continuous yarn.
• Texturizing: The yarn is then transported to the Biella factory for a texturizing process that gives it volume and softness.
The yarn is then ready to be shipped to our weaver.

Taffy technical yarn Newlife™ Italian taffeta

Taffy is our Italian taffeta material made from Newlife™ – a technical yarn of 100% recycled polyester, manufactured in Italy using a fully traceable process.
Made from existing polyester, we use no virgin materials for these pieces.
All pieces are then produced in Portugal.
We included this technical material in the Patine catalog for its durability and drape, as it dries quickly, wrinkles very little, and is very easy to care for.
Feather-light in a suitcase, each Taffy piece allows you to be "dressed up", even when paired with simple jeans.

The concept

In 2022: we wanted to solve the dilemma of those evening outfits that are only worn once a year.
Say hello to the 3-in-1 Taffy party dress, like shampoo, to be worn together or separately.

The challenge: to create a prom dress, Patine-style. A party outfit that can be easily re-worn and is as conscious as possible, always.

Our idea: to deconstruct the party dress into three pieces to be worn together or separately: a skirt, a short-sleeved shirt, and a top!

Taffy is an exercise in ready-to-wear for multiple occasions and all seasons, for an evening out and the next day to go get bread.

In 2026: we're adding new versions and expanding the capsule with a dress, a top, and pants. Let's shine.

How to rewear?

As a full outfit or mix-and-match, with sneakers or heels, in summer or winter, you'll rewear your Taffy pieces infinitely.
The skirt goes well with both tucked-in and untucked tops.
It's a bit like the "effortlessly chic" look for clothes: they elevate a denim outfit without trying too hard, and if you add a bit of lipstick, you're instantly dressed up.

A beautiful and imperfect material


No material is perfect in itself, which is why we consider its overall impact, its place of manufacture, and its traceability throughout the value chain, seeking a balance between intrinsic durability (strength, quality over time...) and its aesthetic qualities (because when you feel good in a garment, you wear it often and for a long time).

Here's what we like about Taffy yarn:
• Newlife™ yarn is entirely Italian and 100% "post-consumer" recycled, from the collection of plastic bottles to spinning.
• It is durable, dries quickly, is easy to care for, and weighs almost nothing in a suitcase.
• We are fully aware of the risk of microplastic release from synthetic materials; this is lower than for knitted polyester.

Recycled polyester will not solve the pollution problem linked to fashion, and not all recycled polyesters are equal. We believe that natural materials should be favoured, while also remaining vigilant about their impact, which can also be disastrous for biodiversity and resource depletion.
