Sustainability and traceability

Italian yarn 100% extra-fine regenerated merino wool

Traceability
• The wool is made up of 50% wool, 50% post-consumer and 50% pre-consumer and is GRS certified. These are old 100% wool sweaters that are mechanically recycled and then reprocessed into yarn, combined with sweater production scraps.
• The sweater recycling and new yarn manufacturing stages are carried out in Italy. We have chosen a high-end spinner who has been creating the most beautiful yarns for… 135 years! He supplies the biggest luxury brands.
• The sweaters are knitted in Italy in a family business that is an institution in the Italian knitwear world and has existed since the 1950s. An expert partner in the category that works with well-established luxury players.

🌍 Measured positive impact: This innovative manufacturing process allows us to avoid the very heavy carbon impact of traditional sweaters knitted from virgin sheep's wool. Currently, 70% of merino wool comes from sheep raised in Australia and New Zealand, sometimes in intensive farming conditions, 70% of which then goes to China to be processed and knitted.

Care: Hand wash or cold wash, low spin (400 max), use a special wool detergent, no fabric softener needed. Do not tumble dry, do not iron. Do not dry on a hanger, but always dry flat.

How is this sweater more conscious than another?

Currently, the majority of extra-fine wool comes from sheep raised in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, often in intensive breeding conditions, of which 70% of the wool then goes to China to be transformed.
To overcome this manufacturing process which has a very heavy carbon impact, we are offering an innovative solution for our first sweater.

A recycled extra-fine wool yarn 50% post-consumer and 50% pre-consumer labeled GRS made in Italy. Post-consumer = old 100% wool sweaters, mechanically recycled then retransformed into yarn associated with scraps from the production of wool sweaters (this is the pre-consumer).
The recycling of the sweaters and the manufacturing of the new yarn are carried out in Italy. Our sweaters are then knitted in Portugal.

How to maintain it?

You can wash it by hand or in the machine on wool program (cold or 30 degrees), low spin (400 revolutions max), use a special wool detergent, no softener needed. Do not put in the dryer, do not iron and lay it flat so that it dries without losing its shape.

Wear & rewear it!

Since 2017 we have been building our ideal wardrobe together, clothes that we can wear every day, in different ways and obviously comfortable, beautiful, robust. The Wooly sweater definitely ticks all these boxes: its slightly boxy cut allows you to wear a shirt or a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath without being uncomfortable and constricted (or a short-sleeved t-shirt, Wooly is very soft!).
Its length, neither too long nor too short, allows it to be slipped under any jeans/skirt/pants. It's called french tuck .
The double cuffs, the ribbed finish with side slits, the double neckline and its back embroidery make it not only cool but also unique. And did we also mention that it was robust thanks to its thick mesh?
It's not just the sweater you'll wear because it's cold and it's really warm, it's the sweater you'll wear all the time. I wooly always wear you.

Opposite are the 3 sweaters worn with our Patine essentials: the Marty jogging bio-recycled, the Brenda skirt in regenerative-recycled cotton, the Donna jeans stretch without elastane or with the Taffy skirt in recycled taffeta.

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions.

What does recycled merino wool mean?

Recycled wool comes from workshop scraps, and also very largely from the mechanical recycling of already existing wool sweaters. So we have not created any new material. Here's how it works: the used wool is first sorted by color before being shredded. It is then re-mixed to form the desired colors, rather than using the dye again. Finally, it is spun again, then woven, to create a new fabric. And there you have it!

I already have a Wooly sweater, what size should I get?

You can take the same size. We now offer 3 sizes for the oversized sweater, if you have any doubts refer to the size advice we have made a correspondence table.
The little sweater is intentionally closer to the body, we advise you to take your usual size. If you want an oversized look, take a size above your usual size.

Patine, how do you manage to get this quality at this price?

If the size doesn't fit, can I exchange my sweater?

Yes, absolutely, as long as it is unworn and still tagged. You have 14 days, and we always make extra pieces for you to exchange.
